Great tasting Italian sausage and potato soup (adapted from Olive Garden)

Recipe Ingredients for Zuppa Toscana

4 slices turkey bacon
1 pound turkey sausage, Jennie-O spicy Italian
1 tbsp onions , dried, minced
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup water
3 1/2 cups Chicken Broth
3 medium potatoes
1 cups kale leaves, cut in strips
1/2 cup fat free half & half
1 pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Zuppa Toscana

  1. fry bacon in large pot, cool and crumble

  2. brown sausage in same pot

  3. add bacon, garlic, pepper, onions and water, cover & simmer 5 minutes

  4. add chicken broth`and potatoes, cover and simmer 20 minutes

  5. add kale, simmer 2 minutes

  6. add half & half and serve
