Recipe Ingredients for Zuppa Toscana

1 cup low fat milk
29 oz low sodium chicken broth,
8 oz hot Italian sausage
5 clove garlic, crushed
2 cups chopped kale
1/2 medium onion, chopped
4 medium red potatoes, sliced
4 cups water
1/3 lb bacon, low sodium, chopped,

Recipe Directions for Zuppa Toscana

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage, breaking into small pieces as you fry it; drain, set aside

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown bacon; drain; set aside.

  3. Place water, broth, potatoes, garlic and onion in a pot; simmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender

  4. Add sausage and bacon to pot; simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add kale and milk to pot; season with salt and pepper; heat through
