A Zippy Southwester-flavored soup.

Recipe Ingredients for Zippy Black Bean Soup

1 small Onions
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Cumin
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 cup Sauce, Ready-to-serve, Salsa
1 tsp Sea Salt
2 lime yields Lime Juice
56 grams Cilantro
4 cup Black Beans

Recipe Directions for Zippy Black Bean Soup

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions and cook stirring until softened, 2 to 3 minutes. Add chili poweder and cumin and cook, stirring, 1 minute more. Add rinsed and drained beans, water, salsa, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. remove from heat and stir in lime juice.

  2. 2. Transfer half the soup to a blender and puree (use caution when pureeing hot liquids). Stir the puree back into the suace pan. Server garnished with sour cream and cilantro, if desired.
