This food is pretty healthy in general. Strengths include that it is low in fat, sodium, and sugar, while being high in carbohydrates. It is a pretty good source of fiber as well as iron. It is pretty filling while not being unhealthy, which is good and it has a decent amount of protein. Some things that arenâ??t seen by looking at the nutrition label is that it has some magnesium, selenium, and phosphorous. It also has anti-oxidants from the wolfberries. Weaknesses can include that it isnâ??t a significant source of vitamins and that it has a lot of starch. It fits very well into a healthy diet and provides a lot of carbohydrates. This has ten servings in it and should be served hot. It can be served with different breads and tastes just as good by itself. *Note* Wolfberries are used (Lycium barbarum), not cranberries. They are a herb and cranberries were just used as an approximation

3 cups Rice, White, Short-grain, Cooked
1 cup red beans
1/2 cup Beans, Black, Mature Seeds
1 cup Dates, Domestic, Natural And Dry
1/2 cup Tapioca, Pearl, Dry
1/2 cup Cranberries
15 cups water

Recipe Directions for Zhou: Rice Soup

  1. Put all of the ingredients together in a large pot

  2. Cook on high temperature until the water boils

  3. Then cook on low temperature for as long as desired (recommended at least 2 hours)

  4. The longer it is cooked, the better it will taste

  5. Once cooked, stir and serve hot.
