Recipe Ingredients for Zesty Sausage and Pepper Pasta

12 ounces whole wheat penne pasta
1 red bell pepper
1 onion
6 ounces mushroom
1 tablespoon olive oil
32 ounces pasta sauce
1/2 pound ground pork

Recipe Directions for Zesty Sausage and Pepper Pasta

  1. Saute ground pork in large frying pan with 1/2 tbsp of olive oil. Once that is cooked all the way through, transfer meat to a bowl and set aside. In the same pan you cooked the meat, saute the onions with 1/2 tbsp of olive oil. Once the onions turn golden, add the mushrooms. Once the mushrooms start to cook down, add the red peppers. When the vegetables are still crisp, add the meat back to the pan and pour in the jar of pasta sauce. Put the lid on the pan and simmer for 10 minutes while cooking the pasta.
