Rehauled Sheppards Pie! Ditch the gravy, full fat beef, corn starch and whatever other mystery ingrediant your mother used to throw into this dish... This classic dish has been over-hauled!

Recipe Ingredients for Yurkey

5 medium (2" dia, 5" long, raw) Sweetpotato
2 unit, yield from 1 lb raw Poultry Food Products, Ground Turkey, Cooked
1 cup Cream Style Sweet Corn
1.5 cup Vegetables, Mixed
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Pepper, Black
1 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
1 tsp Oregano, Ground
1 tsp Parsley, Dried
1 large Onions

Recipe Directions for Yurkey

  1. Pre-Heat Oven to 250F.

  2. Cut sweet potatoes into cubes (skin on) and boil in a large pot until soft.

  3. Dice onions and add to skillet in medium high, cooking until slightly opaque. Add Ground Turkey to skillet, add herbs and spices and brown until cooked.

  4. Once cooked, add the turkey to a meduim sized baking dish (making sure it is at least 2.5 inches deep).

  5. Add to the turkey the canned creamed corn (reduced sodium of course!).

  6. In another large pot boil your mixed veggies (I prefer carrot, corn and pea mixture) and boil.

  7. Once cooked, drain veggies and add to the turkey and creamed corn.

  8. Drain Sweet potatoes and mash until smooth.

  9. Mix the Turkey, the corn, the veggie mixture until well blended in the bottom of the dish and smooth it out.

  10. Take the mashed sweet potatoes and layer them ontop of your turkey mixture.

  11. Place in oven and cook for approx 25 mins. Finsih off with 5 mins of Broil to make the top of those sweet potatoes nice and browned and Vuallllla! You have Yurkey (Yam+turkey) DELISH!
