A fattening creamy sauce soaked up with fresh, chewy bread. Substituted sourdough for brioche because I live in sucktastic Oklahoma.

Recipe Ingredients for Yummy Mushrooms on "Brioche"

1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dry white wine
12 fluid ounces heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 slices sourdough bread

Recipe Directions for Yummy Mushrooms on "Brioche"

  1. Melt butter in large skillet. Saute onions over medium high and add mushrooms and garlic after 3-5 minutes. Brown mushrooms-don't crowd or they will just steam.

  2. Add white wine and reduce heat to medium. When wine is reduced, add cream and simmer for 7-10 minutes. Stir-in seasonings and serve on top of warmed bread.
