Variation on Indian yellow pea soup

Recipe Ingredients for Yellow Stew 1

16 oz Yellow Split Peas
1 head cauliflower
1 med white onion
4 cups Cooking Stock
2 cups water
1 tbs coriander
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red pepper
1 salt
1 olive (14 g) oil (tbsp)
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 cup chopped cilantro

Recipe Directions for Yellow Stew 1

  1. rinse peas and put in pot with stock, water and turmeric, bring to boil.

  2. crush coriander and cumin seeds, saute in hot oil. add red pepper, onion, salt; until onion is softened. Add to peas.

  3. clean and break cauliflower into small pieces and add to pot. Simmer on low until peas are cooked. Finish with chopped cilantro.
