Made this up myself based on the proportions on the back of a Goya pea package.

Recipe Ingredients for Yellow Split Pea Soup

1 lb yellow split peas
1 large carrot, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 medium onion, diced
0.33 lb ham hock
6 cups water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Yellow Split Pea Soup

  1. Sort and rinse peas.

  2. Add all ingredients to large pot.

  3. Bring to a boil.

  4. Lower heat and simmer until peas are tender.
