Recipe Ingredients for Yeast Rolls

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tbsp yeast
3 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cups Bread Flour

Recipe Directions for Yeast Rolls

  1. In a larg emixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Add the salt and butter.

  2. Add 3 cups of the flour. Mix until smooth. Add in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough, adding more flour if needed. Push your fingers into the dough; it should feel like it's going to stick to your fingers as you pull them away, but doesn't.

  3. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 to 20 minutes. Place in a lightly greasted bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

  4. Punch dough down. Using a 1/3 measuring cup (1/4 for 16 servings), measure out the dough for 12 rolls. Shape each into a ball.

  5. Place the rolls into a greased 9"x13" pan. Cover and let rise until they are at least double in size, about 30 to 45 minutes. You can let them rise longer, but make sure you don't let them over-rise and tehn deflate when baking.

  6. Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
