Tastier than commercial granolas. Natural sweetness, no sugars.

Recipe Ingredients for Workout Granola

4 c oats, rolled
1 c almonds, raw
1/2 c sunflower seeds, raw
1/2 c pumpkin seeds, raw
3 T sesame seeds
3 T flax seeds
2 T cinnamon, ground
1/2 t nutmeg, ground
1 pinch of salt
1/2 c peanut butter, salted, sugar free
1/3 c molasses, black strap
1 c raisins, golden

Recipe Directions for Workout Granola

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Combine the first six ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. Sprinkle 1 T of cinnamon and all of the nutmeg over the mixture. Add a pinch or two of salt.

  4. In a microwave safe dish, heat the peanut butter for 30 seconds on high.

  5. Add molasses to the peanut butter, heat in microwave, on high, for 30 seconds. Stir.

  6. Add peanut butter mixture to the dry stuff. Mix thoroughly until everything is coated, gloved hands work best. Break up clumps.

  7. Spread mixture evenly on a 1/2 sheet pan sprayed with non-stick spray, or covered with parchment paper.

  8. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon over the mixture.

  9. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Remove, stir, re-spread evenly over the pan.

  10. Bake in oven for 6-8 more minutes, depending on your oven. It smells great when it's right--sort of like cookies--but when it's cooked too long, it just smells burnt.

  11. Cool for 10 minutes. Sprinkle raisins evenly over granola.

  12. Cool completely before storing in the fridge in a zip top bag or airtight container. This mix also freezes well, just thaw it in the fridge before consuming.
