Recipe Ingredients for Winter Vegetable Casserole

490 g swede
410 g parsnips
250 g pearl barley
530 g carrots
185 g leeks
375 g brussels sprouts
10 g thyme, raw
45 g fresh parsley
15 g red chilli pepper
2 stock cube
1 g ground black pepper
5 g tabasco

Recipe Directions for Winter Vegetable Casserole

  1. Chop all veg into bite size chunks (not too small)

  2. Put in big casserole dish (I do mean big!)

  3. Chop herbs and layer on top

  4. Crumble the two stock cubes over the top

  5. Add the black pepper and however much tabasco you are using (to taste)

  6. Pour boiled water over until it is just at the level of the vegetables

  7. Put the lid on and cook for 2 hours or so at 180 (maybe reducing to 160 - see how it is doing half way through and give it a stir)

  8. Eat!
