Recipe Ingredients for Winter Cabbage and Root Beef Soup

6 cups beef broth
6 oz shredded beef
1 large potato, russet
4 small carrots
1 large turnip
1 large onion
2 stalk celery
1 tbsp ghee
5 cups chopped cabbage

Recipe Directions for Winter Cabbage and Root Beef Soup

  1. Make beef stock first with beef bones. Save the meat for the soup, about 1.5 cups.

  2. Saute onions, celery, carrots and turnip until translucent.

  3. Put stock and veg into slow cooker. Cook 1 hour on high and then 10-12 on low.

  4. Add beef to soup during last 2 hours.

  5. Add vinegar and salt.
