Recipe Ingredients for Wilderness Soup

2 cups dry great northern beans
2 tablespoons canola oil
8 cups vegetable broth
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 carrots
2 yellow onions
2 red potatoes
8 ounces tomato sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup dry barley

Recipe Directions for Wilderness Soup

  1. cook beans until soft

  2. chop onions and cook until somewhat brown in canola oil

  3. chop carrots and potatoes

  4. cook barley until soft

  5. add everything into crockpot along with a teaspoon of Penzey's Northwoods seasoning and 2 bay leaves and 4 bouillon cubes and 8 cups of water
