Recipe Ingredients for Wild Rice Soup (Homemade)

1 lb bacon
1 onion
1 cup uncooked wild rice
1 pint half and half
8 oz mushrooms
2 cans cream of potato soup
1 pint water
5 oz velveeta cheese

Recipe Directions for Wild Rice Soup (Homemade)

  1. Rinse rice in water

  2. Boil on low in cups of water for 30-45 minutes

  3. While rice is cooking, fry bacon until crisp

  4. Drain off fat and chop into pieces

  5. Sautee onion in some of the bacon grease

  6. Drain off remaining fat as needed

  7. Drain rice

  8. Combine all ingredient in large pan

  9. Heat

  10. Add additional water if needed

  11. Season to taste.
