Wholewheat apple cinnamon waffles

Recipe Ingredients for Wholewheat apple cinnamon waffles

1 1/4 cups whole wheat pancake mix
1 1/4 cups 1% milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Wholewheat apple cinnamon waffles

  1. Heat waffle iron.

  2. Combine pancake mix, milk, egg and oil; stir until large lumps disappear.

  3. Stir in cinnamon and applesauce.

  4. For best results, allow batter to rest 4-5 minutes before baking. Pour scant 1/2 cup of batter onto waffle iron (lighly grease if necessary). bake until golden brown and steaming stops.
