Recipe Ingredients for Wholemeal Tortillas

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup water

Recipe Directions for Wholemeal Tortillas

In food processor mix flour, salt and baking powder. Add butter and mix until resembles coarse meal. Mix in warm water until dough forms. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead...will be quite sticky. Portion into 1.2 oz pices and shape each into a ball. Cover with plastic and rest on counter for 30 min. Heat dry cast iron skillet over medium heat until hot. Roll out tortilla until very thin. Place in skillet and cook until puffs then turn and cook other side (about 90 sec total). Transfer to clean dishtowel and cover. Repeat with remaining dough. Kids love them. You will be surprized how easy these are.
