Wholegrain breakfast muesli bars

Recipe Ingredients for Wholegrain breakfast muesli bars

3/4 cup rolled oats
60 g Stone Ground 100% Wholemeal Plain Flour
60 g Cereal
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Egg, Whole
4 tablespoons apple sauce or purée
4 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
30 g unsalted sunflower seeds
30 g chopped walnuts
220 g chopped dried mixed fruit

Recipe Directions for Wholegrain breakfast muesli bars

  1. Preheat oven to 160 C. Line a 23cm square baking dish with baking paper.

  2. In a large bowl, stir together the oats, flour, cereal and cinnamon. Add the egg, apple sauce, honey, sugar and oil. Mix well. Stir in the sunflower seeds, walnuts and dried fruit. Spread mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.

  3. Bake 30 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned around the edges. Let cool. Use the baking paper to lift from the dish. Cut into squares and refrigerate until required.
