Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Waffles

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/8 tsp salt
3/4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
3/4 cup 1% milk
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Waffles

  1. Heat waffle iron.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl with a wire whisk.

  3. In a small bowl beat eggs. Add milk and applesauce. Stir to combine.

  4. Pour liquid ingredients into flour mixture. Beat with whisk until smooth.

  5. Pour approximately 1/3 cup into each waffle square. Close until it makes a popping sound and the green light turns green.

  6. Serve with topping of your choice!!
