NOTE: butter and syrup are added for ease of adding to my food log, and is based on 1 1/2 tsp butter, and 2 Tbs syrup per serving (1 waffle). DO NOT ADD BUTTER AND SYRUP TO WAFFLE BATTER! This makes about 6 waffles ... 1-3 quarters usually fills me up!

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Waffles

3 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup coconut oil
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
9 tsp butter
12 tbs maple syrup

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Waffles

  1. Preheat Waffle Iron

  2. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.

  3. Mix wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients.

  5. Mix well, do not over-stir.

  6. Spread into waffle iron.

  7. Cook as directed for your waffle iron.
