Prepared the day before. Baked 45 minutes before serving, allowing 15 minutes to cool. Held together well after cooling period.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Turkey Lasagna

14 oz Whole Wheat Lasagna
1200 grams Tomatoes Diced
350 grams Cheese Italian Style Blend Shredded
3 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Red
1 cup, chopped Onions
2 cup slices Squash, Summer, Zucchini, Includes Skin
16 oz Fresh Ground Turkey - Lean
10 oz Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links
5 cup Spinach
2 1tsp Olive Oil
1/4 cup leaves, whole Basil, Fresh
1 tbsp Parsley, Dried
1 tbsp Oregano, Ground
6 tsp Garlic
16 oz Cottage Cheese, Lowfat, 2% Milkfat
3 medium Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Turkey Lasagna

  1. Precook the pasts

  2. Saute the peppers and onions in olive oil.

  3. Add ground turkey and turkey sausage links and stir to break up the meat.

  4. Add spices, mincing the basil.

  5. Add cans of tomatoes.

  6. Cook until meat is browned.

  7. Chop zucchini and yellow squash. Chop spinach. Add these items to the meat mixture.

  8. Blend eggs and cottage cheese until smooth.

  9. In 3 casserole pans put layer of meat mixture.

  10. place one layer noodles

  11. place layer of cottage cheese

  12. layer of meat

  13. layer of cheese

  14. Then layer the noodles, cottage cheese, meat and cheese again.

  15. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly. Allow to cool for 15 minutes prior to serving.
