These tasty and easy homemade pancakes are quick to make and healthier and less expensive than store-bought mixes.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Pancakes

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 large egg
1 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons canola oil

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Pancakes

  1. Mix ?dry? ingredients (whole wheat flour, salt, baking soda) in a large bowl.

  2. Wisk ?wet? ingredients (egg, orange juice, oil) together.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined.

  4. Heat skillet to medium high then lightly spray with cooking spray.

  5. Spoon batter using a 1/4-cup dry measure into skillet.

  6. Turn pancakes over when bubbles in pancakes pop.

  7. Remove when done, about 1 minute.

  8. Serve with applesauce.
