Recipe Ingredients for Whole wheat/oat/maple/honey/seed bread

1/2 cup water, warm
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 package yeast
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3 1/2 tsp vital wheat gluten
1 tsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp bulgur wheat
1/4 cup unprocessed bran

Recipe Directions for Whole wheat/oat/maple/honey/seed bread

  1. Analysis done with 2% milk.

  2. Put warm water in large bowl; add yeast, vegetable oil, honey, and maple syrup. Mix.

  3. In separate bowl, mix together salt, oats, flours, wheat gluten, sesame seeds, bulgur wheat, and unprocessed bran.

  4. To yeast mixture, add milk and egg; mix.

  5. Add flour mixture to yeast mixture; mix well.

  6. Knead for about 8 minutes, adding flour as needed.

  7. Let rise in oiled bowl for 1 hour.

  8. Punch down dough, form into loaf, and put into greased loaf pan. Let rise for 1 hour.

  9. Bake at 375F for about 35 minutes.

  10. I tried adding chopped sunflower seeds to this; not a good idea. I will try this recipe again as written above, leaving out the sunflower seeds. Another possible addition to try: flax seeds.
