medium density. 100% whole wheat. no milk or egg.

Recipe Ingredients for whole wheat oat bread.

1 1/2 cups water
3 cups whole wheat flour
62 g vital wheat gluten
1 cup rolled oats
2 T butter
1 t salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 t yeast

Recipe Directions for whole wheat oat bread.

  1. combine sugar water and butter. heat. add yeast, set aside.

  2. measure 2 cups flour. mix in water mixture and beat for 5 minutes.

  3. fold in oats, gluten, and remaining flour.

  4. knead for 10 minutes

  5. rise for an hour.

  6. punch down and turn out. shape into loaves. rise until double.

  7. bake at 375 for 40 minutes or until hallow sounding.
