Yummy whole wheat pancakes made from scratch.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat (non mix) pancakes

1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 salt
1/2 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup skim milk
1/2 tablespoon lemon

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat (non mix) pancakes

  1. whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powerder, baking soda, and salt in large bowl

  2. in separate bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter and the milk (add the tablespoon of lemon to the milk and let sit 5 minutes before whisking in)

  3. make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour milk mixture into the well and whisk gently until just incorporated. (lumps will remain)

  4. cook on a 12 inch nonstick skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Cook on one side until bubbles appear. Flip and cook till golden brown.
