Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Low Fat Lasagna

1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion
1 garlic clove
14 1/2 ounce tomatoes
6 ounce tomato paste
8 ounce tomato sauce
6 1/2 ounce mushroom pieces
16 ounces 2% mozarella cheese
24 tsp parmesan grated cheese
15 ounces fat free cottage cheese
1 whole egg
1 egg white
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/2 tsp salt
10 ounces whole wheat lasagna

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Low Fat Lasagna

  1. Cook meat with onions, garlic, garlic salt and mushrooms

  2. Cook noodles according to directions

  3. Mix half mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese and cottage cheese with parsley and eggs.

  4. Layer in baking dish:

  5. 1 cup sauce

  6. noodles

  7. 1 1/2 cups sauce

  8. 1/2 cheese mixture

  9. noodles

  10. 1 1/2 cups sauce

  11. second half cheese mixture

  12. noodles

  13. rest of sauce

  14. balance of mozarella cheese and more parmesan if desired.

  15. Cover with foi and bak 45 min.

  16. Uncover and bake another 10 min.

  17. Allow to sit for 10 minutes before serving
