Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat and Honey Quick Bread

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/8 cup ground flax seed
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp honey
1 tbs olive oil
1 cup nonfat milk

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat and Honey Quick Bread

  1. Preheat Oven to 450

  2. Grind oatmeal in food processor.

  3. Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl.

  4. In separate bowl, dissolve honey into oil. Then stir in milk until well mixed.

  5. Add wet mix to dry until a soft dough form. If dough is very wet, add a bit of flour. Dough should be slightly sticky.

  6. Turn out dough onto floured counter mat. Dust with whole oatmeal and whole wheat flour while gently shaping into loaf form.

  7. Put dough onto lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until the bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
