Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Green Chile and Cheddar Rolls

1/2 cup fat free sour cream
1/2 cup fat free milk
1 egg
1 tsp sea salt
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup green chile (preferably Hatch)
3 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup shredded fat-free cheddar cheese
2 tsp yeast

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Green Chile and Cheddar Rolls

  1. Put ingredients in bread machine in the order they are listed. Use the dough setting on the machine.

  2. When cycle is complete, turn out dough on a lightly floured surface, give it a few folds and form a circle, and put in a greased bowl (I use olive oil) and cover with a cloth. Set bowl in a warm place and let sit for an hour.

  3. After dough has doubled in size, turn again onto lightly floured surface. Gently work the dough, flattening a bit, and cut into twelve balls.

  4. Take a baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal. Place the 12 balls of dough evenly on the large sheet and brush lightly with an egg wash.

  5. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, turning pan halfway through. Enjoy!
