A hearty whole grain bread with flax meal instead of oil for moistness.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole wheat flax bread

3 cups bread flour
3 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
3/4 cup flax meal
1 cup egg substitute
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp wheat gluten
2 cup warm water
2 tbsp yeast

Recipe Directions for Whole wheat flax bread

  1. Mix yeast in 1 c. warm water with about 1 tbsp of the sugar.

  2. Set aside to proof

  3. Add rest of ingredients into a bowl

  4. Add the yeast mixture

  5. Knead until elactic.

  6. Let rise until about double.

  7. Punch down.

  8. Let rise again.

  9. Form into loaves (four small or 2 medium)

  10. Let rise until about double.

  11. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
