Low-sugar, whole wheat cinnamon buns made with non-fat greek yogurt, and no need for yeast. Delicious!

Recipe Ingredients for whole wheat cinnamon buns

10 oz 0% Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk
2 cup Sweetener
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
9 oz Whole Wheat Flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
3 tsp Truvia

Recipe Directions for whole wheat cinnamon buns

  1. Instructions:

  2. Dough:

  3. 1. Combine 8 oz of greek yogurt, 1/3 cup almond milk, 3/4 cup splenda, 6 tablespoons melted butter and 1.5 tsp vanilla. Process until smooth, approximately 10 seconds.

  4. 2. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda and pulse in short bursts just until the dough clumps together.

  5. 3. Lightly flour your surface and place dough on top. Knead with the heel of your hand until even, moist (but not gooey) consistency. With a rolling pin, roll the dough into 1215 inch rectangle.

  6. Filling:

  7. 1. Brush the dough with the remaining 2 tablespoons melted butter, leaving inch border unbuttered around the edges.

  8. 2. In a bowl, combine cinnamon, ginger, and 1/2 cup splenda.

  9. 3. Sprinkle the mixture over the buttered area. Pat flat.

  10. 4. Starting at a long edge roll up the dough jelly roll style. Pinch the seams and leave the ends open.

  11. 5. Cut 12 equal pieces. Set pieces cut side up, in the prepared pan. Don?t worry about the small gaps.

  12. 6. Bake for 20-28 minutes or until golden brown (mine was 23). Let cool for 5 minutes.

  13. Glaze:

  14. 1. In a bowl, combine 2 oz greek yogurt, truvia, 1.5 tsp vanilla, 3/4 cup splenda, and remaining almond milk.

  15. 2. Drizzle over rolls and serve.
