Not as heavy as some whole wheat, but adaptable to changes, as long as 4 cups of flour/or other substitute are used

Recipe Ingredients for Whole wheat Bread Machine Bread

1 cup hot water
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup honey
1 heaping tsp salt
2 cups white flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast

Recipe Directions for Whole wheat Bread Machine Bread

  1. Add ingredients to the pot in the order given. Easier to use the oil first and then the honey falls out easily from the cup.

  2. You could substitute other flours for the white: spelt, rye, quinoa; I would suggest 1 cup of these, and 1 cup white. Also, you could add 1/2 cup ground flax seed instead of 1/2 cup white flour.

  3. Bake at 350 for 30 - 35 min for a large loaf; 25 - 30 min for 2 smaller loaves.

  4. (I always use the dough cycle for 2 hr and then turn out and shape the loaves/buns, etc)

  5. Use a well greased loaf pan; brush the finished loaf with butter/margarine.
