Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Banana Bread

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup applesauce
1 cup mashed bananas
1/3 cup water
2 eggs, slightly beated
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Banana Bread

  1. Blend sugar and applesauce in large bowl.

  2. Add bananas, water, and eggs.

  3. Mix well.

  4. Add sifted flour, soda, and salt gradually, mixing well after each addition.

  5. Pour into 5x9 loaf pan greased on bottom only.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

  7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes then remove to wire rack.

  8. Cool completely before slicing.
