3 grams(3 g) Salt, Table
4 grams(4 g) Baking Powder
2 grams(2 g) Baking Soda
5 grams(5 g) Shortening
1.5 cup Whole Wheat Flour
0.75 cup, slivered Almonds

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Banana Bread w/Almonds

  1. 1. Beat together in small bowl:

  2. 2. 2 bananas, smashed with fork

  3. 3. 2 eggs

  4. 4. 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  5. 5. In larger bowl mix:

  6. 6. 1 1/2 cups flour

  7. 7. 1/4 cup flax seed meal

  8. 8. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  9. 9. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  10. 10. 1/2 salt (optional)

  11. 11. 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

  12. 12. Mix dry ingredients well. Stir in wet ingredients in small bowl, then stir in almonds. Grease loaf pan with shortening and pour in batter.

  13. 13. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Should be dry in center when done. After baking, remove from pan and immediately wrap in foil for at least an hour.
