Whole Wheat, applesauce instead of sour cream to lighten the recipe. Flexible, add what ever dried fruit you want, use pumpkin instead of applesauce, or sour cream...etc.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Applesauce Scone

4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup applesauce
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Applesauce Scone

  1. Combine ingredients. Form ball of dough, divide (1/4 if you want even smaller serving size). Form ball with each half.

  2. On floured surface pat each ball until it is 3/4" or less thick. Cut into 12 pieces.

  3. Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
