A healthy, low fat alternative to regular pancakes.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Wheat Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

160 g whole wheat flour
20 g flaxseed meal
2 g cinnamon
1 g salt
10 g baking powder
5 g sweetener
60 g egg
185 g nonfat milk
100 g chopped apple

Recipe Directions for Whole Wheat Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

  1. Put the whole wheat flour, sweetener, baking power, flaxseed meal, cinnamon and salt into a bowl and mix them together so all of the dry ingredients are distributed equally.

  2. Add the milk and the egg to the bowl and mix together with a spoon just enough until the egg is mixed in, and the mix becomes a batter.

  3. Fold in the chopped apple pieces.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and either add just a touch of cooking oil or nonstick spray to make sure the pancakes don't stick. Add one fourth of the batter and spread it out over the pan, letting it cook for about a minute and a half or until the bottom gets golden brown, then flip it and let it finish cooking.
