Recipe Ingredients for Whole Grain Pilaf

1 1/2 tbsp wheat berries
1 1/2 tbsp wild rice
1 1/2 tbsp barley
1 cups chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder
4 green onions, chopped
1 cup mushroom
1 stalk celery

Recipe Directions for Whole Grain Pilaf

  1. Dry roast grains on med high heat in non stick sauce pan until lightly toasted. About 2 or 3 minutes. Add the chicken broth, onion powder and oil, bring to a boil stirring occasionally. Turned down to a simmer, and simmer for 1-2 hours until grains are cooked and almost all the broth is absorbed. You can add water or more broth if the liquid evaporates before grains are cooked. Makes about 6 servings.

  2. Feel free to add various vegetables, even tomato.
