Pancakes using only whole grains with little sugar.

Recipe Ingredients for Whole Grain Pancakes

1/2 cups rolled oats
1 tbs wheat germ
1 tbs brown sugar
3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup skim milk (actually .25 cups nonfat powdered milk, can't be analyzed)
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/8 tsp salt
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp canola oil
1 cup skim milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Recipe Directions for Whole Grain Pancakes

  1. Mix all dry ingredients

  2. Mix all wet ingredients in separate bowl

  3. Mix wet and dry ingredients until just blended

  4. Let stand five minutes

  5. Cook as usual

  6. First 8 ingredients can be doubled or tripled and kept mixed in the fridge as homemade pancake mix.
