Delicious pancakes which can be served with yogurt, maple syrup, or powdered sugar depending on how healthy you're feeling.

Recipe Ingredients for white whole wheat pancakes with banana

1 1/4 cups white whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup 1% milk
1 egg
2 tbsp canola oil
1 large banana

Recipe Directions for white whole wheat pancakes with banana

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt.

  2. In a 2-cup liquid measuring cup, combine the milk, egg, and canola oil (can substitute olive oil if desired). Stir until the egg is beaten.

  3. Pour the liquid ingredients into the solid ingredients and beat together, getting out the lumps.

  4. (Optional) Mash a banana and stir into the mix. You can also add other things such as chocolate chips, blueberries, cranberries and orange zest, etc.

  5. Heat oil in a frying pan.

  6. With a large spoon, make several dollops of batter in the frying pan - as many as will fit. Fry on both sides until the batter is cooked.

  7. Serve with yogurt, maple syrup, honey, powdered sugar, or plain as desired.
