White rolls made with milk, double sugar for sweeter version.

Recipe Ingredients for White milk rolls

14 g dried yeast
500 g strong white flour
2 eggs
50 g unsalted butter
230 g semi skimmed milk
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 dash salt
1 egg (for top of rolls)

Recipe Directions for White milk rolls

  1. Mix yeast with 1 tbsp of sugar, add lukewarm milk and 6 tbsp flour. Leave in a warm place for 10 minutes.

  2. Melt butter. Add flour to yeast, salt, rest of sugar and eggs and mix well. Add butter and knead the dough for at least 10 minutes on a floured surface. Form a ball and leave for 45 minutes in a warm place.

  3. Form a baguette shape from a dough and cut to 20 pieces (the best is to cut it to three pieces, then each piece in half, and each half in half, etc., (then all the pieces will be similar in size and you will get 24 pieces). To avoid dough sticking to a knife, spray a knife with a bit of oil. Form all pieces into a ball shape, put on a greased baking paper and spread with mixed egg. you can sprinkle top of rolls with sesame, sunflower or poppy seeds, or whatever you like. Leave for 20-30 minutes in a warm place.

  4. Preheat your oven to 200 C degrees (180 for fan ovens) and bake until the rolls are golden.
