This is a bread machine recipe. All ingredients are added w/ exact measurements, in the order listed.

Recipe Ingredients for White Bread

1 1/2 cups water
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp dry milk
4 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Recipe Directions for White Bread

  1. First pour water (80 degrees) into bread pan.

  2. Carefully, using exact measurements, add all other ingredients in order listed.

  3. If using delay timer, make sure yeast is on top of bread flour, away from liquids.

  4. Place pan back into machine.

  5. Select BASIC program, select crust desired, set TIMER for delay or START for immediate start.

  6. At the end of the fist knead process, check the dough ball to make sure it is slightly tacky to the touch. At this time, push down any dough or flour that may be on the sides of the pan.

  7. Use oven mitts to carefully remove the pan @ the end of COOL process or at any time during the HOLD WARM process.

  8. Turn pan upside down & shake several times to release the bread. If it does not release easily, allow it to set for 5 more minutes, then try again.

  9. Allow to cool for at least 20 mins. before cutting.

  10. Store in an air-tight container.
