Recipe Ingredients for Whiskey-Sage Cream Sauce

1/8 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon Sage, Rubbed
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper, Coarse Grind
1 tablespoons whiskey
1 cups low fat milk
1 tbl butter
1 tbl flour
4 tbl hazelnuts, coarsely chopped and toasted

Recipe Directions for Whiskey-Sage Cream Sauce

  1. Melt butter in same skillet on medium heat. Add shallots, sage, garlic powder, salt and pepper; cook and stir 2 minutes or until shallots are slightly softened.

  2. Stir in rye whiskey and cream. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened and coats the back of a spoon.

  3. Spoon cream sauce over ravioli and sprinkle with toasted hazelnuts.
