Makes 2 loaves of bread or 4 stromboli sandwiches. Calories are for 1/2 a loaf of bread or dough for one stromboli.

Recipe Ingredients for Wheat flour

1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 cups water, warm
4 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
5 1/2 cups wheat flour
1/2 cup Vital Wheat Gluten
3/4 cup non-fat dry milk
2 tsp sea salt
1/3 cup canola oil

Recipe Directions for Wheat flour

  1. In a small bowl dissolve 1 Tbsp brown sugar in warm (115 degrees) water, stir in yeast.

  2. in mixer bowl add4 cups of wheat flour, dry milk and salt. mix 30 seconds. add yeast mixture and oil. mix 90 seconds. add remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time. knead 2 minutes. let rest, covered, in oiled bowl until doubled (about 1 hour).

  3. to make bread cut in half and shape 2 loaves. let rest, covered, until doubles (about 1 hour). Bake at 400 for 15 mintues, then reduce the temperature to 350 for 30 minutes.

  4. To make stromboli sandwiches cut in 4 pieces, and roll into long rectangles approx 12-16"x8'. Lay desired ingredients along the middle, then fold top and bottom (like folding a business letter). Seal with a moisened finger. let rest, covered, until doubles (about 1 hour). Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
