Makes 12 servings



A mix of white and wheat flour. Very good taste and lower fat but higher in calories. I based on 12 servings per loaf but that is for fairly thick slices. Could easily be more.

Recipe Ingredients for Wheat Bread

2 c Brown Sugar
1 quart Buttermilk
1 1/2 c White Flour
4 c Whole Wheat Flour
4 t Baking Soda
1 t salt

Recipe Directions for Wheat Bread

  1. Mix brown sugar and buttermilk with a wooden spoon.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir only until well mixed.

  3. Pour into 2 sprayed bread pans and bake at 350 for 50-60 mins
