Recipe Ingredients for Wheat Berry and Bean Chili

2 oz Cilantro
1.5 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
0.7 large Onions
1.3 medium Orange Hothouse Bell Pepper
1 Medium Tomatoes
14 oz Mild Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies
15 oz Beans, Kidney, Red, Mature Seeds, Canned
15 oz Great Northern Beans
0.5 tsp Sea Salt
1 tbsp Minced Garlic
2 tbsp Chili Powder
0.5 tsp Pepper, Black
0.5 serving Ground Cumin
0.3 tablespoon Oregano
6 tsp unpacked Sugars, Brown
4 cube Beef Flavor Bouillon
0.67 cup Wheat Berries
0.5 fruit (2-1/8" dia) Lemons

Recipe Directions for Wheat Berry and Bean Chili

  1. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onion, bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 5 minutes. Add beans, tomatoes, chipotle to taste, broth and brown sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes.

  2. Stir in cooked wheat berries and heat through, about 5 minutes more. (If using frozen wheat berries, cook until thoroughly heated.) Remove from the heat. Stir in lime juice. Garnish each bowl with avocado and cilantro
