A slow cooked meal that simmers all day to enhance the flavours.

Recipe Ingredients for Western Steak with Rice

1 kg steak
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
6 tsp mustard powder
3 tsp chili powder
6 tbsp brown sugar
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup diced onion
6 tbsp diced green pepper
6 tbsp vinegar
6 cup white rice, cooked

Recipe Directions for Western Steak with Rice

  1. Chop steak into small pieces.

  2. Combine flour, salt and pepper in a bowl

  3. Toss steak in flour mixture to coat thoroughly

  4. Brown coated steak in a little oil in a frying pan until the outside is cooked

  5. In a slow cooker, combine mustard, chili powder, sugar, ketchup, onion, green pepper and vinegar. Stir well.

  6. Add browned steak to the mixture and leave to simmer on low for 8 hours.

  7. Prepare rice according to directions once the rest of the meal is ready.

  8. Spoon mixture in crock pot over the rice and enjoy!
