delicious version of the traditional pineapple upside-down cake you can add crystalized ginger to the butter brown sugar mixture if you can find it.

Recipe Ingredients for warm pear ginger upside-down cake

1 tbs butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 pears
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1.33 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

Recipe Directions for warm pear ginger upside-down cake

  1. mix butter and brown sugar

  2. slice pears

  3. align pears in a baking dish

  4. sprinkle with butter/sugar mixture

  5. in a bowl, cream butter and sugar

  6. add eggs one at a time

  7. mix flour, baking powder, salt

  8. add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour

  9. pour over pears and sugar mixture

  10. bake at 350 until golden brown

  11. after cooled for 15 minute, invert on a serving plate

  12. serve while still warm
