Recipe Ingredients for Walnut Tarts

1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c butter - softened
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c walnuts
1 2/3 c flour
2/3 c lard

Recipe Directions for Walnut Tarts

  1. make your favorite pie crust

  2. mix first 5 ingredients with a spoon (don't beat).

  3. make your pie crust or use store-bought and roll out. cut out circles to fit muffin tins. shape 12 pie dough circles into muffin tins.

  4. divide the filling among 12 tins

  5. bake for 25 minutes (do not open oven door until tarts are done - the filling may bubble over)

  6. remove from tins w/i 5 minutes of taking them from the oven so the bits that bubble over don't stick

  7. easiest way to remove from tins is to spin the tart in place and then lift it out.

  8. enjoy!
