melt in your mouth, special Christmas cookies

Recipe Ingredients for Walnut Shortbread Cookies

1 cup ground walnuts
2 tbsp white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white flour
1 tsp vanilla

Recipe Directions for Walnut Shortbread Cookies

  1. Grind 1 cup of walnuts.

  2. Remove from food processor, add softened butter and 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, mix thoroughly before adding the flour. Mix in thoroughly, use clean fingers if necessary otherwise some cookies will have too much butter, some too much flour.

  3. Divide into about 18 pieces, roll into balls, can be flattened gently with a fork or if you don't want a pattern, just use a glass to flatten.

  4. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in preheated 350' oven, for about 15 minutes. When completely cool, sprinkle with icing sugar.

  5. Just two of these, and it's 250 calories....but so good. Only at Christmas, for sure!

  6. Yay, Calorie Count gave me a D on these! I feel like I'm being graded...(insert raspberry noise, I don't need to be graded). I suppose these are politically incorrect.

  7. You know, I can't help it if people eat too much and get fat. Use common sense, people! have treats in moderation.
