Makes 9 servings



1st attempt at waffles in a waffle iron. They turned out well. Makes 9 waffles (in a small square waffle iron).

Recipe Ingredients for waffles

1 1/4 cup wheat flour
1 cup oat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cup soy milk
1/4 cup water
3 tbsp pure maple syrup
3 tbsp canola oil

Recipe Directions for waffles

  1. Combine vinegar and soy milk, stir and allow to sit to clabber. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together (except flax seed). In the bowl with the "butter milk" add all other wet ingredients. (Note, mix the water and flax together to make a slurry and then add to wet ingredients.)

  2. Pour wet into dry. Mix and allow to sit for about 2 mins.
