Light waffle - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

Recipe Ingredients for Waffles

1 cup white flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup oats
2 tsp baking powder
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 egg whites
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups skim milk
6 tablespoons butter, melted

Recipe Directions for Waffles

  1. Heat waffle iron.

  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. In another bowl, beat egg whites until fluffy, set aside.

  4. In another bowl, whisk egg yolks, and vanilla. Stir in milk.

  5. Fold in melted butter and then beaten egg whites until just incorporated.

  6. Cook until brown and crisp on outside.
